Angry reactions trail Rev Fr Osuagwu’s assassination

Angry reactions have continued to trail the recent assassination of Rev. Fr. Dennis Osuagwu, in Owerri, as the Claretian Missionaries prepare for his burial at Maryland Institute of Philosophy, Nekede, Owerri West local council area of Imo State.

Already, some Anglican clerics, Bishops David O. C. Onuoha of Okigwe South Diocese and Geoffrey Okorafor of Egbu Diocese, have charged the security agencies to unravel the killers of the Catholic priest.

While describing the murder of the Catholic priest as “horrific, shocking and most unfortunate”, Bishop Onuoha, wondered why anybody would lift his hands against the anointed man of God.

“The assassination of Rev. Fr. Osuagwu has clearly shown the level of insecurity in this land. Nigerians now contend with Boko Haram menace, kidnappings, armed robbery, assassination, child trafficking and other serious crimes”, Bishop Onuoha said.

In his reaction, Bishop Okorafor wondered what could have informed the killing of the Catholic priest in the manner they did.
