Arsenal-Chelsea Goalscorer Betting: Hazard to light up an exciting Community Shield clash

With some big names potentially missing this curtain-raiser, last season's Player of the Year to provide the main attraction in front of goal

English football resumes with a bang on Sunday, as Arsenal take on Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley.

While Petr Cech’s defection across London from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates is sure to draw plenty of attention in this game, it is the multitude of attacking talent that should provide the entertainment.

Paddy Power have a set of huge prices on the games for anyone opening a new account. Chelsea have been enhanced to 7/1 (8.0) while Arsenal are being offered at 8/1 (9.0). These prices can be taken throughthis special page.

While Diego Costa is 7/5 (2.40) favourite in the anytime goalscorer market, Radamel Falcao may have an immediate chance to prove himself in a blue shirt if the Spain international is not 100 per cent fit to start.

Having disappointed at Manchester United last season, the Colombian striker is joint 6/1 (7.00) with Paddy Power to make start redeeming his reputation by opening the scoring, and priced at 9/5 (2.80) to strike anytime.

The on-loan forward will vie for a place in the team with Loic Remy, who can also be backed at 9/5 (2.80) to stake his claim with a goal here.

However, with question marks hanging over both of that pair’s heads, Jose Mourinho will be expecting Eden Hazard to carry plenty of the goal-scoring burden.

Top-scorer behind Costa last season, the Premier League’s Player of the Year offers strong value at 12/5 (3.40) to get the new campaign off to a goal-scoring start.

Like Chelsea, the Gunners are without a key man in their attack after Alexis Sanchez was granted extended leave following Chile’s Copa America win in the summer.

Nevertheless, 14 goals in their last four pre-season games suggests they won’t miss him too much, with Olivier Giroud the 9/5 (2.80) favourite to find the net.

Sanchez’s absence could offer Theo Walcott another chance to prove his credentials, with the England man a tempting anytime option at 2/1 (3.00) after hitting six in his last five for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Similarly, having grabbed two goals and looked lively in pre-season, the oft-criticised Mesut Ozil is well worth considering at 4/1 (5.00) to fill Senchez’s boots by getting on the scoresheet.

Don't forget, if you'd like an enhanced price on the game and haven't got a Paddy Power account, there's the opportunity to back 7/1 (8.0) on Chelsea or 8/1 (9.0) on Arsenal.
