Operational Time For Keke Operators Reduces by Abia Govt

Irked by rising wave of crime in its two major cities of Aba and Umuahia, Abia State government has reduced the operational time for Keke, Tricycle commercial riders, from 6am-7pm in the two cities and its environs. The order takes effect immediately.

Added to this measure, the State government has further declared that the use of Okada remained banned in the two cities of the State.

It would be recalled that the immediate past administration of Senator Theodore Orji had restricted the operations of commercial Keke Tricycle operators within the two cities of Aba and Umuahia from 6am-9pm while it totally banned the use of Okada Motor bike in those cities.

Residents living in the two cities have in recent times raised the alarm over the resurgence of armed robbery and other sundry crimes in the two cities.

However, Our correspondent gathered that the present measures by the State government are the outcome of security reports available to it which confirmed that the hoodlums operate with keke tricycle and Okada motorbike.
