Two people were arrested while they were offloading drugs from a truck in Bellville in Cape Town.
Western Cape police said on Thursday that the two suspects - aged between 30 and 40 - were arrested on the N1 in a garage near Kraaifontein in Cape Town.
"According to the information, the khat came from Kenya via Johannesburg to Cape Town," police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.
"Khat is also known as mirra, and the estimated street value... is R223 000."
The suspects were expected to appear in the Kuils River Magistrate's Court on charges of drug possession.
