The Federal Government has lined-up five key witnesses including Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai to testify against Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on allegations of false declaration of assets, corruption leveled by the Code of Conduct Bureau.
Saraki appeared before the Code of Conduct Tribunal yesterday for the first time, following his non-appearance on Friday.
The Senate President is standing a 13-count charge on false statements in his 2003 assets declaration as Kwara State governor.
A Vanguard report said the Federal Government has lined up the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, and four others to testify in the case.
The ex-FCT Minister is expected to testify that he signed off one of the property bought by Saraki in Abuja which the CCB alleged Saraki failed to file in his assets declaration.
