Enrique Iglesias has jumped ship from Universal to Sony Music, with his new albums likely to be released by RCA and Sony Music Latin.
That’s according to Billboard sources, which say that although Iglesias’ longtime relationship with Universal has always been a good one, the artist was swayed by the promise of “major international support” from Sony and “one of the biggest contracts offered to any artist in recent years in terms of advances and royalties”.
The move means that 2014’s Sex And Love is Iglesias’ last LP under Universal. The album peaked at No.11 in the UK and spent seven weeks on the chart.
To date, Iglesias has scored one UK No.1 single, with 2002’s Hero, and 10 Top 10 singles.
